Anti-racism activities
Racism affects everyone’s sense of security. It undermines human dignity and erodes trust between people in society. By taking a stand against racism, you are helping to create a more humane world.
Each and every one of us can take action against racism in our own daily lives and within our communities. You can find instructions on how to intervene here.
You can also print out the anti-racism guidelines and take them to your own leisure activity location or branch. Download the printable instructions from the Red Cross material bank.
What does racism mean?
Racism stirs up hatred and creates inequality between people. A racist mindset denies the human rights to which everyone is equally entitled. Racism hurts both its victims and society as a whole.
Racism treats people unequally in contexts such as education, working life and services.

Week Against Racism campaign materials
The Week Against Racism, coordinated by the Red Cross, is held every year in March. The campaign week challenges everyone to take action against racism. Find out more about the Week Against Racism and try out the Identify and Act navigator to see what you would do in different situations.
You can find the materials for the Week Against Racism here.
Anti-racism resources for schools
You can find learning materials for schools and the Identify and Act navigator for young people here.
On the page for schools, you can also find the Week Against Racism morning assembly, which is available to watch throughout the spring.
As a Red Cross volunteer, you help to create a more humane world. If you are interested in anti-racism activities in your area, please contact your nearest Red Cross district office (in Finnish).
