Youth Shelters are open around the clock

Our Youth Shelters are located in five cities: Espoo, Helsinki, Vantaa, Tampere and Turku. We offer help for young people and their loved ones throughout Finland online.

Contact us online, call us whenever you need to or come directly to one of our Youth Shelters. You can come to us on your own initiative and without an appointment. Our help is free of charge.

Youth Shelters are open throughout the summer. See the summer opening hours for each shelter below.

Youth Shelters in the Helsinki region will be on duty on a rotating basis, serving the region’s young people and their loved ones throughout the summer. The temporary accommodation and discussion support services are available around the clock on weekdays and from 5.00 pm to 10.00 am on weekends. 

• In Vantaa Youth Shelter from 24 June to 4 July. 
• In Helsinki Youth Shelter from 5 July to 18 July.
• In Espoo Youth Shelter from 19 July to 1 August.

The employees at the programme for young people becoming independent will be available at the shelters throughout the summer.

From 2 August 2021 onwards, the Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa shelters continue their usual operations in their own areas.

Espoo Youth Shelter is easily reached with A, S, U, L and Y train services that stop at Leppävaara and with Espoo’s internal buses.

The Tampere Youth Shelter will provide discussion support in person and online from 28 June to 30 July on weekdays from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm.

The temporary accommodation service of Tampere Youth Shelter is closed from 24 June until 1 August 2021.

Starting on 2 August, the Tampere shelter will be open according to its usual opening hours.
