This three-part podcast series takes you on a journey towards a connection with nature under the guidance of a nature therapist.

In the Luontoyhteys voimavarana (Connection with nature as a resource) podcast series, anyone can explore and experience the wellbeing benefits of nature. You can listen to the episodes from your sofa at home or while moving in the natural environment.

The podcast series was produced as commercial cooperation with nature therapist Tiina Pulska. In her work, Pulska supports and strengthens the relationship with nature, regulation of the nervous system, and the promotion of natural rhythms.

The Luontoyhteys voimavarana (Connection with nature as a resource) podcast series combines research-based information on the effects of nature on wellbeing, guided bodily exercises, and a soundscape that takes you forward.

‘One step at a time, at your own pace’

‘In this three-part podcast series, we’ll journey together towards a connection with nature – one step at a time, at our own pace. Hiking skills or knowledge of the natural environment are not required. You don’t need a perfect forest. All you need is a moment to yourself and an open mind,’ Pulska says.

The first episode was designed to be listened to at home. The second episode can be listened to either indoors or outdoors. The third episode takes you on a guided journey into nature, and we recommend listening to it outdoors.

Each episode is a self-contained whole and an experience in its own right. In other words, you can listen to the episodes in whatever order you like.

Episode 1: Asylum

What does a connection with nature mean? How does your connection with nature affect the body and mind? This episode provides answers to these questions. At the end of the episode, you will be guided through an asylum exercise, which lasts approximately 20 minutes. It takes you to nature through your imagination, even if you are unable to leave home.

This episode is intended to be listened to indoors. You can also listen to it outdoors in a quiet place.

Episode 2: The body and nature

How are emotions reflected in the body? How can nature help us to listen to our bodies and cope with difficult emotions? This episode provides answers to these questions. The episode consists of three exercises: the sensory anchor, a light shaking of the body, and a longer body–nature exercise.

You can immerse yourself in the episode and the exercises either indoors or outdoors. If you are indoors, look for a place and posture which allow you to move freely. If you are outdoors, choose a quiet place where you can stand or sit.

Episode 3: The path

The final episode of the podcast series guides you to nature. This episode is intended to be listened to outdoors. Choose a place where you can move freely: a nearby forest, a park, a garden, or any green and calm environment.
