Talking About Loneliness 11.4.-16.5.2026

Welcome to Talking about loneliness online group!

It’s wonderful that you want to pause and explore loneliness together with others. Talking about loneliness online groups are designed to offer information and different perspectives on loneliness. During the group process, you will get to know yourself better and will certainly learn something new about yourself. The most important part of the group is, of course, the shared discussions, and each group takes shape based on its participants.

This group is facilitated by volunteers Blanche, Sunil and Varvara. The group meetings are held as video meetings. Only people who have registered for the group can access this page.

Structure of the group meetings and weekly exercises

The group meetings last approximately one and a half hours. At the beginning of each meeting, there is a short check-in round where participants can share thoughts and feelings. If you have completed the weekly exercise, you may also share any reflections it has raised for you.

Each meeting has a selected theme, which is explored through prepared questions and group discussion. At the end of the meeting, the weekly exercise is introduced and experiences from the session are shared once more.

The group always follows safer space principles during meetings.

If you wish, you can keep a diary in which you write down thoughts and feelings that arise during the group process. The diary can also be called a gratitude journal, focusing especially on noticing the good that already exists. Our thoughts have a surprisingly powerful influence, guiding us to focus either on opportunities or threats, on successes or failures. We hope that this group process can help you see those opportunities and successes.

Using the group chat and joining the video meetings

You can open the group chat from the red bar at the bottom of the page. You can write messages without logging in and add a nickname for yourself when sending your first message. The group can use the chat platform to share thoughts, links, and questions also between meetings.

You can also join the group’s video meetings via the group chat bar at the bottom of the page. We recommend that you familiarize yourself with the technical instructions in advance, as the platform we use has certain limitations or challenges with some devices or browsers. Please also make sure that you have granted permission for the use of your microphone and camera in your browser.

Before joining a video meeting, you should send a short message in the chat and add a nickname for yourself (unless your browser already remembers your nickname from the previous session). This nickname will also be used as your name in the video meeting.
