At the moment, the efficient way to get help to those in need in Syria is via the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. The local volunteers do significant aid work in live-threatening conditions. They assist the Syrian people every day by delivering food, medicine and blankets.

In Aleppo at least 250 000 people live under the siege. Especially in eastern Aleppo humanitarian situation is catastrophic and civilians lack the basic needs.

The Finnish Red Cross participates in the aid operation in Syria. Last year, 66,500 euros from the Disaster Relief Fund were allocated to Syria, and 72,000 warm blankets were sent there as material aid.

Donated funds are vital for the operations of the Red Cross.
