The volunteer crew aboard the Red Cross service boat Caritas helps boaters and holiday-makers in the Väståboland archipelago in the summertime.

If you are able to provide first aid and do not suffer from seasickness, Caritas welcomes you aboard!

In high summer, Caritas circulates the Archipelago Sea helping boaters and the inhabitants of the archipelago. In addition, it helps the authorities with emergency medical care and rescue missions and with transportation.

The crew aboard Caritas consists of volunteers with first aid skills, some of whom are health care professionals. The boat is on standby 24 hours a day.

Caritas is looking for volunteers with first aid skills. If you possess a first aid card and want to put your skills to good use aboard Caritas, contact the Varsinais-Suomi district.

On-duty work on Caritas is a unique experience. The volunteers work in the midst of the beautiful archipelago scenery and live in the boat’s cosy cabin. As a main rule, the on-duty period in the first response season is one week but a shorter period can be arranged as well.
