‘Afterwards, I’ve wondered a bit. Like, how would I be doing now if I hadn’t rung the shelter doorbell.’ (Niko, 16 years)
There are problems in all lives and all families, irrespective of culture, religion, educational background or standing in society, butYOU CAN ALWAYS DO SOMETHING ABOUT ANYTHING!
Emergency Youth Shelters offer help and support when things get difficult for people under the age of 19 and their families.
Emergency Shelters offer young people a safe place to stay the night, and help in talking to their parents, as well as many forms of support in building a future. For one person, a telephone conversation might be enough; somebody else might need more comprehensive support.
Phone us or stop by if you need help or somebody to talk to. The Red Cross maintains Emergency Youth Shelters in Helsinki, Vantaa, Espoo, Tampere and Turku.
